Man Charged With Murder In Motorcycle Crash

A tragic incident in Cumberland County has led to murder charges against 56-year-old John Clark. Authorities allege that Clark intentionally struck a motorcyclist, Robert Allen Rustay, with his vehicle on Tuesday morning (September 30), resulting in Rustay's death. The incident occurred at the intersection of South Third Street and Clark Street in Lemoyne.

According to CBS 21, Clark admitted to police that he was upset because the motorcyclist cut him off, prompting him to chase and hit Rustay. Officers noted that Clark's vehicle was on fire when they arrived at the scene, and Rustay was found deceased nearby.

Clark also admitted to consuming alcohol before the crash, reportedly drinking vodka, though he was unsure of the exact amount. Police observed signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes and slurred speech, and Clark performed poorly on a field sobriety test. Surveillance footage reviewed by the police showed Clark's vehicle pursuing the motorcycle before the crash.

The court documents reveal that after hitting the motorcycle, Clark's vehicle collided with another car and a telephone pole. He now faces multiple charges, including murder, homicide by vehicle, and DUI. Clark is currently held without bail in Cumberland County Prison.

The investigation continues as authorities gather more details about the events leading up to the crash. The case highlights the dangers of road rage and driving under the influence.
