Authorities in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, have identified a man found dead following a shots fired incident in Columbia Borough. Christopher Colon Martinez, 31, was discovered deceased at a home on the 200 block of Walnut Street on Tuesday morning (December 9). First responders were initially called to the scene for a suspected overdose. Earlier that day, police had responded to reports of gunfire in the same area, which resulted in damage to several vehicles and a home.
The Lancaster County Coroner's Office confirmed that Martinez was involved in the shots fired incident but noted that he did not suffer any gun-related injuries. An autopsy conducted on Wednesday revealed no suspicious findings, and the cause of death remains undetermined pending toxicology results.
Residents in the area have expressed concern over the incident. Misty Musser, a neighbor, shared her fears, saying, "You don't expect that. I mean, I know there's shootings, but it's never been that close to my house. I had to run home to make sure my son and my kid, my animals were safe" as reported by WGAL.
The investigation into the events surrounding Martinez's death is ongoing. Local21 News reports that the coroner's office is awaiting toxicology results to determine the cause and manner of death.
