The Philadelphia Eagles have announced a change in their coaching staff, demoting Kevin Patullo from his role as offensive coordinator following their Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Head Coach Nick Sirianni made the announcement on Tuesday (January 12), expressing his respect for Patullo's contributions over the past five years. Patullo, who was hired by the Eagles in 2021, initially served as the passing game coordinator before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2025. During his tenure, he helped the Eagles achieve significant milestones, including the best red zone offense in team history and a notable reduction in turnovers. Despite these successes, the Eagles finished 24th in overall offense and 19th in points scored during the 2025 season.

The decision to demote Patullo comes as the Eagles aim to improve their performance and make another strong run next season. According to PhiladelphiaEagles.com, Sirianni stated, "Ultimately, when we fall short of our goals, that responsibility lies on my shoulders." The team is reportedly open to keeping Patullo in a different role, though his future with the Eagles remains uncertain.

The Eagles will now begin the search for a new offensive coordinator, marking their fifth change in this position in as many years. The team is expected to look outside the organization for a candidate with substantial play-calling experience, as reported by Bleeding Green Nation. The Eagles' decision reflects their commitment to enhancing their offensive strategy and achieving greater success in future seasons.
